The vertical and horizontal lines found in the RIP CURL Series create dynamic systems that, at a certain distance, produce perceptual effects that are forever multiplying. The paintings do not stop at the physical materiality of the canvas and give an impression of 'hors-champs.'
Composed of repeated motifs interacting with one another, the dynamics of each pattern devised to achieve an all-over rhythm create a series of visual effects pulsating to engage the viewer's perception. The networks of motifs generated by the flow of materials on the canvas, and the movement induced by each of them, manifest a certain automatism of the gesture.

The large formatted paintings, which deLorme's refers to as Mineral paintings, involve using and combining different raw natural pigments. The physical experience of the work plays a role; the process of perception, optics, and color are the basis of this research. Painting being the vehicle, the solution must partly arise from the pictural process.
